The Wrong Room Remixed

2017 witnessed the unleashing of Black Sun Empire’s sixth studio album, a contemporary drum & bass manifesto 14 tracks deep that effectively delineated a four year period of experimentation from one of the best known acts in the genre.
Hungrily received by the community and laying down a further milestone in what’s become a true empire through the Blackout label’s output and influence, THE WRONG ROOM lived up to the heavy expectations that lay upon it and has been laying waste to dance floors worldwide since its release. It’s only fitting then that THE WRONG ROOM REMIXED sees some of the most prominent acts in drum and bass approach the 14 tracks to reimagine them with devastatingly powerful consequences.
From the collaboration of titans Ed Rush & Audio with KILLBOX’s inspired tech assault on BSE & NOISIA’s collaboration THE VEIL, to ABIS & SIGNAL’s achingly powerful version of I SAW YOU which relentlessly tugs at the feelings through its yearning vibe – the LP moves through diverse and pointed territories with ruthless effect. THE PROTOTYPES flip into surprisingly deep and embracing liquid with their appropriately sublime flex of IMMERSION whilst EMPEROR and POSIJ crank up a pair of warped perspectives on SCARIF and SWARM respectively and CURRENT VALUE tears up the rulebook with his hybrid pollination of neuro and jump up ideas for BROKEN.
With further remixes from the likes of NEONLIGHT, AGRESSOR BUNX, DRUMSOUND & BASSLINE SMITH, THE UPBEATS, L33 and MISANTHROP, the WRONG ROOM reads as a who’s who of forwardthinking d&b, and each unique take on the source material proves repeatedly the strength in production that they bring.
